INDESCAT will take part in Andorra Cluster Day on 20 October, an event organised by Andorra Esports Clúster and ACTINN – Andorra Cluster for Technology and Innovation, bringing together companies, professionals and stakeholders from the sports and technology ecosystems to share knowledge, build connections and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Representing INDESCAT, Pere Vilà, Cluster Manager, will participate in the roundtable “Small in size, big in networks: what can sports clusters and technology clusters build together?”, taking place from 9:15 to 10:00 am. The session will also feature Judith Hidalgo from Andorra Business, Pere Martínez from Sinergia, and Albert Moles, and will focus on the value of collaboration between clusters to connect companies, knowledge and opportunities beyond geographical and sectoral boundaries.
INDESCAT’s participation in the roundtable highlights the role of clusters as facilitators of connections and drivers of business competitiveness, particularly in a sector such as sport, which is becoming increasingly cross-cutting and connected to fields such as technology, innovation, health, tourism and talent.
The event will also provide an opportunity to share INDESCAT’s experience as a connecting hub for Catalonia’s sports industry ecosystem, facilitating collaboration between companies, research centres, universities, sports organisations and other stakeholders, while fostering new business and innovation opportunities.
Sport, technology and innovation as drivers of competitiveness
Under the theme “Sport, technology and innovation”, Andorra Cluster Day will explore how technology and innovation can contribute to transforming sport and creating new opportunities for companies.
The event, sponsored by Nexta and Andorra Business, will open with an institutional welcome from Marc Saura, Secretary of State for Business, Economic Diversification and Innovation, followed by a series of talks and discussion sessions focusing on technology applied to sport, entrepreneurship and performance.
One of the highlights of the programme will be the talk “Andorra as a technology sandbox for the sports sector: when technology enables you to compete with the big players”, delivered by Ignasi Martin, Cluster Manager at ACTINN, exploring Andorra’s potential as a testing and development environment for technology solutions applied to sport.
The programme will also feature the talks “The Corporate Athlete”, delivered by Aleix Prat from Copilots, and “Engineering on Two Wheels: Technology, Design and Performance in Mountain Biking”, delivered by Elía Villa from Fisiolab.
The event will conclude with a closing session following a programme combining knowledge, discussion and networking, aimed at fostering new connections among stakeholders from the sports and technology ecosystems.
INDESCAT’s participation in this initiative reinforces the cluster’s commitment to connecting Catalonia’s sports ecosystem with other territories, sectors and stakeholders, identifying opportunities for collaboration and contributing to a more innovative, competitive and connected sports industry.
