INDESUP! Tech train twenty entrepreneurs in technologies applied to the sports industry

Twenty entrepreneurs started on 4th September INDESUP! Tech, a training and advice program focused on those technologies that are revolutionizing the sport business. The program is organized by INDESCAT, EURECAT and UB, and it is  part of  the Pre-acceleration first plan of Catalunya Emprèn.

The first day of INDESUP! Tech, which was held in the facilities of INDESCAT, began with a welcome by the representatives of the entities that organize the program: INDESCAT, UB and EURECAT. The day continued with an introductory session by Alex Rivera, cluster manager of INDESCAT, and Xavi Faura, innovation and entrepreneurship manager, who explained the cluster's commitment to entrepreneurship in the sports sector and detailed the different phases of INDESUP! Tech. Subsequently there was a second session entitled Opportunities, challenges and technological trends in sport, given by Xavier Catasús, business development manager of health and sports industries at EURECAT. Catasús spoke about how technologies are opening new lines of business in the sports sector, and advanced some of the topics that will be discussed in depth during the rest of the program.

INDESUP! Tech is structured into two different and complementary parts. The first part, which takes place during September and October, will train entrepreneurs in new technologies and in the optimization of business management in the sports field. In addition, they will receive a generic training on sports ecosystem and trends in the sector. In the second part of the program, which will take place during November and December, there will be an accompaniment to help entrepreneurs define and validate the minimum viable products that they have devised.

The program is aimed at people with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to promote technological projects (apps, wearables, artificial intelligence, video analysis, big data ...) related to areas such as the improvement of sports performance, the promotion of healthy sports, sports management or fan engagement, among others.

INDESUP! Tech is an initiative framed within INDESUP!, the sports entrepreneurship program organized by INDESCAT, the Catalan sports cluster, with the collaboration of the International Center for Entrepreneurs in Barcelona (ICEB) and with the support of ACCIÓ.
