Interview to Alberto Montenegro, CEO and Founder of SpeakersPro

Communication, professionalism, and audience connection are key in all kinds of events, from presentations and conferences to galas and motivational talks. SpeakersPro is an event presenter agency made up of around a hundred media professionals with experience in the sector. Originally focused on sports events, today it offers a wide range of services with experts from around the world, always seeking excellence and adaptability for every occasion.

We spoke with Alberto Montenegro, CEO and founder of SpeakersPro, to find out how the agency was born and how they make every event connect with the audience with emotion and style.

Where did the idea for the company come from?

What began over 25 years ago as a personal project focused on sports events grew to become, from 2019 onwards, an agency offering a wide range of services: presentations for large companies and public institutions, awards ceremonies, conferences, conventions, scientific sessions, product launches, press conferences, motivational talks with experts, DJs for music, professional photographers, and masters of ceremonies for weddings and all kinds of celebrations.

We grow every day facing new challenges from clients, whether they ask for TV stars to host a gala, media comedians to entertain an event, or speakers in different cities around the world. This year we have been in five countries, we work with SpeakersPro professionals in over 25, and we can find whatever our clients request.

SpeakersPro was born from a passion for communication and the desire to offer a professional service in a sector that often lacked real experience and judgment in front of the microphone. We noticed that many companies and event organizers needed presenters who could truly connect with the audience, adapt to different languages and situations, and convey emotion and energy with rigor and style.

From this idea, we created an agency that brings together more than a hundred media professionals — journalists, speakers, masters of ceremonies, and entertainers — with a common goal: to communicate emotions.

What types of services do you offer, and what sets you apart from other agencies in the sector?

As mentioned, our services have multiplied in recent years, and we are ready to provide all kinds of solutions to our clients, from sports speakers to corporate presenters, AI experts, international influencers, or masters of ceremonies for weddings.

Our speakers work both nationally and internationally, in bilingual or multilingual formats, adapting to diverse audiences and cultures.

What sets us apart is the expertise and real experience of our professionals. We are not a database of profiles but a community of communicators with proven track records in media and large events. We also provide advice, scripting, coordination with production, and public speaking training to ensure each event has a coherent and unique narrative.

Why is communication especially important in sports events? What does “communicating emotions” mean to you?

Sports are pure emotion. The audience doesn’t just want to see what’s happening; they want to feel it. The speaker or master of ceremonies is crucial to turn a match, race, or final into a memorable experience.

But we have also realized that any event, including corporate ones and of course weddings, needs a presenter who conveys emotion so the message reaches the audience directly and uniquely.

When we say “we communicate emotions,” we mean creating connections between the organization, athletes, and the audience. Through tone, music, rhythm, and storytelling, we bring the event to life and ensure each moment has a story behind it. This is our specialty: turning moments into memories.

What new trends or technological tools are you incorporating to stay ahead?

We are incorporating new audiovisual content and digitalization tools, such as creating podcasts, training videos, and social media content that amplify the impact of events.

We also use live audience interaction systems and CRM platforms for client and project management. This allows us to optimize processes and provide a more complete and personalized experience.

How do you integrate sustainability into your projects?

We are aware that communication can also be sustainable. We prioritize digital materials, reducing printing and paper use, and collaborate with local suppliers to minimize unnecessary travel.

We also promote environmental awareness and social responsibility in many events we participate in, especially in sports, where values education is essential.

We care about work-life balance and create optimal conditions for our team to perform their best with full support from the agency.

What is your most important short- and long-term challenge?

Short-term: consolidate our new Barcelona headquarters as a hub for content creation, including a podcast and video studio. We want it to be an open space for collaboration among communicators, brands, and institutions.

Long-term: make SpeakersPro the leading European brand in event hosting, expand our model to other countries, and become a hub for live communication.

What types of companies can you create synergies with?

We can work with event agencies, sports federations, large companies, audiovisual production companies, corporate brands, public institutions, and sports or cultural clusters.

We also collaborate with coaches, trainers, and communication companies to offer joint programs in public speaking, leadership, and storytelling. We enjoy working with partners who share our philosophy: creating experiences that connect with people.

What does being part of a cluster like INDESCAT bring you, and what can you contribute?

Being part of INDESCAT allows us to connect with other players in the sports sector, share knowledge, and develop collaborative projects. It gives us visibility, networking, and real synergies with companies that share our vision of innovation and quality.

For our part, we bring live experience and a communication perspective that can help other cluster members enhance the impact of their projects. In short, we can give voice and emotion to Catalan sports and any type of event our clients envision.
