Decarbonisation and water management in sports facilities in times of drought, highlights of EFISport 2024
15 March 2024
The decarbonisation of sports facilities, water management, future solutions to the ban on the use of microplastics in artificial turf, digitalisation as a tool to help sports facilities become more energy efficient, and the use of geothermal energy in sports equipment. These were the topics discussed at EFISport 2024, this year's 11th edition of which included, as a novelty, the Open Innovation Challenge competition. The annual event, which was attended by more than 170 people, is organised by INDESCAT, with the collaboration of the Clúster de l'Energia Eficient de Catalunya (CEEC), the Clúster de la Bioenergia de Catalunya (CBC) and the Catalan Water Partnership. During the event, held on 13 March at the INEFC in Barcelona, participants were also able to visit the EFISport Marketplace, where solutions, products and services for the maintenance and implementation of energy efficiency measures were presented.
