Interview to Lluís Casas & Xavi Guilà, founders of Vibliotec

We spoke with Lluís Casas & Xavi Guilà, founders of Vibliotec, the EdTech platform specialized in sports training, which successfully combines technical knowledge with personal development to offer learning pathways tailored to the needs of professionals in the sports industry. With a clear mission to democratize access to high-quality training and a strong focus on innovation, Vibliotec is consolidating its position as a key player both locally and internationally. They explain how the project came about and what challenges and opportunities lie ahead in a time of great transformation for the sports industry.

Where did the need to create Vibliotec come from?

After more than 20 years working at the highest level of global sports, especially in football, we felt the urge to share the knowledge we had gained. We were fortunate to learn alongside some of the brightest minds in the sector, and we didn’t want that knowledge to stay just with us. That’s how Vibliotec was born: from the desire to democratize access to sports knowledge, with a strong focus on training young people and professionals looking to grow in the field.

What kind of content do you offer and who is it for?

Our offering is based on flexible, digital training, structured in learning pathways that combine hard skills and soft skills. We work with highly renowned professionals—Olympic champions, top-level managers, and training experts—who lead the courses. These programs are designed for all roles within a sports organization: coaches, athletes, technical teams, administrative and management staff, and even support roles such as maintenance or customer service. The goal is to ensure that everyone can access relevant, practical training.

What makes Vibliotec different from other training platforms?

What sets us apart is that we are the EdTech reference in the sports sector, with our own proprietary platform, which we also offer in a white-label format to third parties. We produce all our audiovisual content in our studios in Catalonia, China, and Argentina, ensuring the highest production quality. Furthermore, we don’t just focus on technical knowledge—we also foster personal development and tailor our programs to each professional profile, with learning paths designed for the entire sports ecosystem.

How do you ensure that expert knowledge reaches your users effectively?

We are committed to agile, engaging educational formats, with short, clear, and actionable content. Each course is part of a coherent pathway with a logical, progressive structure. This makes the content easier to digest and more applicable to professionals' everyday work. We also tailor the formats to the consumption habits of newer generations.

How do you see the future of continuous education in the sports sector?

There is a clear shift towards more digital, flexible, and personalized training models. The sports sector is increasingly demanding agile solutions to keep knowledge up to date. At Vibliotec, we are responding by integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analysis, while maintaining a strong focus on listening closely to the real needs of sports clubs and professionals.

What is your main challenge in the short term? And your long-term goals?

In the short term, we aim to establish ourselves as an essential tool for the development of the sports ecosystem in our region, reaching more clubs, federations, and professionals. In the long term, our goal is to become the global benchmark for sports education, with the capacity to generate a tangible, positive impact on the professional journeys of thousands of individuals around the world.

What types of companies do you see potential synergies with?

We are open to collaborating with companies working in areas such as sports technology, health, education, or talent management. We’re especially interested in partners who share our mission of growing the sector through knowledge, innovation, and a people-centered approach. We seek partnerships that offer mutual value and help scale the impact of our training programs.

What value does being part of INDESCAT bring to Vibliotec?

INDESCAT gives us access to the broader sports ecosystem, providing visibility, shared knowledge, and a valuable network. Being part of the cluster allows us to identify synergies, spot trends, and form strategic collaborations. It's a community we can grow with, and a smart move for any company looking to expand its presence in the sports industry.

His vision blends sustainability, technological innovation, and health, with initiatives like the creation of the Innovation Manager role and energy efficiency improvements in facilities. The organization is now fully focused on the sports sector, aiming to grow within the concession management field.
